To – a diaphragm of the enriching device of average loadings,
L – float,
M – an emulsion tube of the I camera,
N – jet of idling of the I camera,
Р – needle valve,
Q – mesh fuel filter,
R – emulsion tube of the II camera

Installation of the step engine of adjustment of idling of the Weber carburetor

And – a pusher of the step engine,

In – a restrictive bolt of the lever of a butterfly valve of mix

Adjustment of idling of the Weber 85 HF carburetor

The arrow showed the screw of adjustment of composition of mix of idling.

In the engine 1,6 of dm3 of the LSD type the two-chamber Weber 84 HF 9510 CA carburetor is used.

From model of 1985 in the engine 2,0 of dm3 of the NET type the Weber 85 HF 9510 CA carburetor (in cars with the mechanical transmission) or Weber 8 HF 9510 DA is used (in cars with the automatic transmission). The design of basic elements of these carburetors is identical to the Weber 83 HF carburetors used earlier in dm3 engines 2,0.

Weber 84 HF carburetors and 85 HF contain the following new elements:

  – the butterfly valve of mix II of the camera copes vacuum, formed in an inlet collector;
  – the automatic starting arrangement has electric heating (only 85 HF – the dm3 engine 2,0);
  – speed of idling is regulated by means of the electric step motor setting a butterfly valve of the I camera in motion. This engine receives the operating signals from the module of management of ESC II ignition (only 85 HF – the dm3 engine 2,0).

Check and adjustment of Weber carburetors

Information concerning only check and adjustment of idling, and also removal and installation of the step engine of management of a butterfly valve of mix of the 1st camera idling of the Weber 85 HF 9510 CA and DA carburetors used in engines 2,0 of dm3 of the NET type is given below.

Removal and installation of the step engine and the main adjustment of idling – the engine 2,0 of dm3 of the NET type

Removal and installation of the step engine of adjustment of idling do not present special difficulties.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. After installation it is necessary to carry out the main adjustment as follows.
2. To warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature, to switch off everything consumers of current and two times to increase engine speed up to the size about 2500 rpm.
3. To insert a plate of the probe 1 mm thick between the ends of a pusher (A) (see rice. Installation of the step engine of adjustment of idling of the Weber carburetor) of the step engine of adjustment of idling and restrictive bolt (V) of the lever of a butterfly valve of mix. Speed of idling of the engine has to make 875±25 rpm.
4. If speed has inappropriate size, then it is necessary to weaken a lock-nut of a restrictive bolt (V) and, rotating this bolt, to achieve the necessary size of speed of idling of the engine.
5. To take a plate of the probe and to increase at least two times engine speed up to the size about 2500 rpm.
6. Again to establish a probe plate on the appropriate place and to check, whether the correct speed of idling of the engine.
7. To take a probe plate, to check and in case of need to adjust contents WITH in exhaust gases.

Adjustment of composition of mix (contents WITH) idling – the engine 2,0 of dm3 of the NET type

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature.
2. To connect a tachometer and the analyzer of exhaust gases.
3. To keep within about 30 seconds engine speed at the level of 3000 rpm and to release an accelerator pedal.
4. After stabilization of indications of both devices to read contents WITH idling.
5. In case of need to adjust contents WITH by means of the screw of adjustment of composition of mix of idling (see rice. Adjustment of idling of the Weber 85 HF carburetor).
6. To install a seal on the screw of adjustment of composition of mix of idling.

Prevention

Speed of idling is regulated by the electronic module of management of ignition of ESC II which operates the step engine turning a butterfly valve of mix idling. This knot is not subject to adjustment.
