Fastening of a brake disk

Since August, 1983 (a code of date of production of "DT") the screw of fastening of a brake disk to a wheel nave is removed.

The brake disk is connected to a wheel nave by means of a spring clip on a bolt of a wheel, identical used on drums of back brakes.


In this regard change in the cars manufactured since August, 1983 in the course of removal of a brake disk it is necessary to mark with a chertilka a relative positioning of a brake disk and a nave of a wheel that at installation it was possible to keep an initial arrangement of a brake disk concerning a nave. Otherwise the brake disk can have excessive beats.

Brake support

Since May, 1983 (a code of date of production "DL") the cars manufactured in Genk, and since June, 1983 (a code of date of production of "DY") also the cars manufactured in Dagen-ham and Cork are equipped with arms of supports (see rice. Identification of an arm of a support of a disk brake) and supports of new type, and also brake shoes with the laying excluding fluctuations. The entered changes do not change the order of dismantling and assembly of brakes and a method of replacement of brake shoes described in subsection 10.2.

Brake fluid

The new Ford SAM 6 C 9103 A brake fluid was systematically entered. New brake fluid can be applied to completion of amount of earlier used liquid. In the course of replacement it is necessary to use new brake fluid.
