FORWARD SUSPENSION BRACKET
Fastening of the stabilizer to the lever
Since November, 1982 (a code of date of production of "SA") are used a casing from artificial material on metal basic cups of metal-rubber rings of connection of the stabilizer with levers.
In case of knocks in a forward suspension bracket during the movement with a small speed on a relief surface it is necessary to arrive as follows.
| PERFORMANCE ORDER
| 1. To lift in front of the car and to fix it.
| 2. To unscrew on the left side a nut of fastening of the stabilizer.
| 3. To remove a metal basic cup and (if it was established) rubber laying.
|4. To pull forward the lower shoulder of the lever and to remove a back metal basic cup.
|5. To wipe a back basic cup (E) (see rice. Installations of new metal-rubber plugs of connection of the stabilizer with levers of a forward suspension bracket) and back part of a back metal-rubber ring of connection of the lever and stabilizer.
|6. To establish a casing (D) on a back basic cup (E) and to put on the stabilizer.
|7. To carefully clear a forward basic cup (A) and a forward part of a forward metal-rubber ring.
|8. To establish basic rubber laying (C).
|9. To establish a casing (V) on a forward basic cup (A) and to put on the stabilizer.
If in knot about which there is a speech there was no basic rubber laying, then in the course of assembly it is necessary to establish such laying between a forward metal basic cup and a forward metal-rubber ring.
|10. To screw a nut of fastening of the stabilizer, but not to tighten it.
|11. To perform similar operations on the right side of the car.
|12. To lower the car.
|13. To tighten on both parties of a suspension bracket of a nut of fastening of the stabilizer the moment 70–100 Nanometers.
Fastening of the stabilizer in support
From April, 1984 (a code of date of production of "EG") to August, 1984 (a code of date of "ITS" production) at installation of the stabilizer in support bolts, nuts and support of new type are used. In case of dismantling it is necessary to observe a complete set of original installation surely.
NAVES OF FORWARD WHEELS
Nuts of naves of forward wheels
Between December, 1982 and January, 1983 all versions of the Ford Sierra cars were equipped with nuts of naves of forward wheels of new type (with a left-side carving). In this regard all knots of naves are designated by the letters "L" or "R" meaning respectively left ("L") or right ("R") of the party of the car, i.e. the parties on which they have to be established.
These changes are entered:
– at the plant in Genk: December 23, 1982;
– at the plant in Dagenham: January 19, 1983;
– at the plant in Cork: January 31, 1983.
