GENERAL INFORMATION

SEALING RINGS

In all engines sealing rings of new type with the additional edge protecting from hit of dust in actually sealant were systematically applied. At the same time on the ends of cranked and intermediate shaft facets of necks are reduced.

Prevention

In case of need extraction of a sealing ring of old type in the course of installation it should be replaced with a sealing ring of new type.

PULLEYS

Since May, 1983 in ONS engines two types of pulleys of a bent shaft are used: cast from cast iron or shaped from steel.

Pulleys differ by means of the signs serving for installation of ignition:

  – on steel pulleys adjusting signs cover corners: from 4 ° after VMT to 12 ° before VMT, and digital designations are located everyone 4 °;
  – on pig-iron pulleys adjusting signs cover corners: from 0 ° (VMT) to 16 ° before VMT and they are hyphens (digital designations are absent); everyone 4 ° the hyphen of designation is deeper than next.
