3.1.4.2.1.4. System of gas distribution

GENERAL INFORMATION

The cam-shaft is in a head of the block of cylinders and is put in action by a gear belt from a bent shaft.

Gas distribution phases

OZD
24 ° before VMT
ZZD
116 ° after NMT
OZW
110 ° before NMT
ZZW
18 ° after VMT
OZD and ZZD – respectively opening and closing of the inlet valve
OZW and ZZW – respectively opening and closing of the final valve

Phases of gas distribution are given when raising the valve in 1 mm and the fixed levers of all valves, except the lever of the valve which phases are measured.

Cam-shaft

Diameter of necks
45,7625 – 45,7375 mm
Axial gap
0,02 – 0,15 mm
Thickness of a persistent plate
4,99 – 5,01 mm
Raising of cams (inlet and final)
5,79 mm
Height of cams (inlet and final)
38,305 mm

The cam-shaft is made of cast iron and located in five bearings in a head of the block of cylinders, recorded is longitudinal by means of the plate screwed by two bolts on a head of the block of cylinders and is put in action by a gear belt.

Gear belt

Brand
Motorcraft
Tension:
  – new belt
350 – 450 N
  – the belt which was in the use (after 10 min. work)
250 N
The tension measured by means of Ford adaptation:
  – new belt
10 – 11 units
  – the belt which was in the use
4 – 6 units
Adjustment of a tension
by means of the mechanical roller tension device
