Repair and operation of the car

This subsection concerns the changes executed in a design of the Ford Sierra cars with four-cylinder diesel engines. Technical characteristics and descriptions of adjustments and repairs which did not undergo changes are in the previous sections.

MODEL 1988

In April, 1984 the version of GT which is characterized by the improved equipment went on sale: the opened hatch, tinted windows, a bumper and the lower part of a body of gray color, and in cars with a five-door body and komb (with a luggage carrier on a body roof) in addition divided back sitting.

MODEL 1989

In all versions of a body additional side bulbs of indexes of turns are added.

MODEL 1990

In October, 1989 the diesel ^{engine with a working volume of 2,3 dm3} and 49 kW (67 h.p.) was replaced with the 55 kW turbodiesel engine of 1,8 ^dm3 (75 h.p.). For all versions of a body the lattice on the ways of air to a radiator and white caps for indexes of turns, and in a back part of a body of Berlin and the sedan – the black strip connecting the darkened back lamps is entered.

MODEL 1992

In all versions the form of the forward panel is a little modernized.

MODEL 1993

Serial equipment of separate versions is improved:

 – CLX – tinted windows, the warmed back glass, electric management of glasses of side forward doors, double headlights, the hydraulic booster of steering and a tachometer;
 – GL – equipment of the version CLX plus electric management of a rear-view mirror, the opening hatch, the central blocking of doors (the central lock), head restraints of back seats and an average armrest of back seats.

At the end of January, 1993 production of the Ford Sierra cars is finished.
